Abstract:

To report a case of bilateral central retinal vein occlusion in a young female patient with idiopathic pulmonary arterial hypertension. Case report and literature review. A 33-year-old female with a history of idiopathic pulmonary hypertension initially presented with progressive vision loss in the right eye and subsequently presented with vision loss in the left eye 2 weeks later. Clinical examination revealed central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) in the right eye followed by CRVO in the left eye within 2 weeks as confirmed by clinical examination, fundus photography, spectral domain optical coherence tomography, and fundus fluorescein angiography. Central retinal vein occlusion is an ocular finding associated with pulmonary arterial hypertension and can be bilateral
