This place making was about collectively (re)inventing public spaces based on the interactions that take place within them making connections to individuals and beginning conversations of the complexities of finding place. Therefore, the use of public space should indicate its designation as a third place and not sanctioned rules that control the use of public space. As urban spaces are made into public places through the interaction of community members, I look at how that space is used with a focus on designations of public places/spaces with two goals in mind: (a) The third-place designation can apply to public parks and the interactions that take place within them. (b) Banning activities in public places due to “moral panic” changes the community use of that space
