Women in Current Cuba: A Balance between Gains Made and Continuing Challenges

In this analysis, it highlights some significant achievements of a diverse character in various areas of women participation in Cuba, but these successes should be assessed through the prism of continuing and stubborn persistence of traditional gender patterns with a specific focus on the female gender. The impact of traditional ideology is strong and its effects are unfavorable, but, on balance, a positive situation prevails.
