Abstract:

In esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs) mainly target the vascular endothelial growth factor receptor (VEGFR) and epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), which displays important significance in clinical practice (1). The FGFR1 is one member of the FGFR family which consists of four tyrosine kinase receptors: FGFR1, FGFR2, FGFR3 and FGFR4 and they have been found to be another potential target of TKIs. Actually, their inner structures are similar to those of some pharmacologic therapeutic targets such as VEGFRs, EGFRs and platelet-derived growth factor receptors (PDGFRs) (2); which may indicate their great clinical value
