Anticoagulation, ferrotoxicity and the future of translational lung cancer researchAbstract: Beginning in the 1950’s and extending for over a half century thereafter, scores of studies in experimental malignancies documented inhibition of tumor growth and metastasis by manipulation of the coagulation mechanism. The extensive literature on this subject has been reviewed in detail in the past (1,2) and will be highlighted here briefly as background for subsequent translational steps to treatment of human malignancy
