The use of penile prostheses in the management of priapism

The definition of priapism is a full or partial erection that persists beyond or occurs unrelated to sexual stimulation. The traditional cut-off is four hours or more in duration (1). Priapism is relatively rare, with an incidence of 0.5–0.9 cases per 100,000 person years (1).
