Treatment and patient related quality of life issues in elderly and very elderly breast cancer patients

Cancer of the female breast is one of the top three cancer types in terms of incidence and ranked as fifth in terms of mortality. Since the prognosis is relatively favorable, when compared with other cancers types such as lung cancer, colorectal cancer, etc., at least in more developed countries, it is responsible for 627,000 deaths (6.6% of the total) according to the latest global cancer data in 2018 (1)
