Chylopericardial tamponade after minimally invasive McKeown oesophagectomy

Esophagectomy is the most curative treatment for oesophageal cancer. However, perioperative complications, such as anastomotic leakage, lung infection, recurrent laryngeal nerve injury and chylous leakage, still result in relatively high morbidity and mortality rates. Cardiac events, including arrhythmia, myocardial infarction, and life-threatening cardiac tamponade, are rare complications after oesophagectomy. We report a case of acute cardiac tamponade caused by chylopericardium after minimally invasive McKeown oesophagectomy
