The role of BioGlue in thoracic surgery: a systematic reviewAbstract: Thoracic surgery has significantly evolved over the last 20 years achieving low mortality and morbidity rates. However, complications following thoracic operations still remain an issue and notably affect the postoperative course, with an added economical burden to health care systems (1). Amongst them, alveolar air leaks (AAL) and bronchopleural fistulae (BPF) are considered quite challenging in terms of management and lead to prolonged chest tube drainage, LOS and increased risk of pleural infections (2,3)
