Public health bodies in the USA, Australia and Europe have noted that there has been an increase in food allergy which coincides with the switch from whole cell (WCP) to acellular pertussis (AcP) vaccination in the US, Australia and Europe. AcP drives a Th2-like immune response, in contrast to the WCP vaccine.
