Treatment of Maize-Based Occupational Rhinitis By Phleum Pretense Subcutaneous ImmunotherapyDOI: 10.1016/j.jaci.2016.12.501 Abstract: A significant percentage of agriculturally based occupational rhinitis (OR) is due to maize pollen exposure in susceptible individuals. Aside from avoidance therapy, other therapeutic modalities have been hypothesized but not tested. Due to the evident cross-reactivity shared by Timothy grass pollen and maize pollen, we present our initial study results of Phleum pretense subcutaneous immunotherapy (SCIT) in patients with maize based OR.
