Peer Relations Among Youth with IgE-Mediated Allergic Disease and Eosinophilic Esophagitis

IgE-mediated allergic diseases and eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) can have a negative impact on quality of life. Distress regarding allergen avoidance, dietary restrictions, symptom frequency, and medication adherence is prevalent in allergic diseases and EoE, and can affect psychosocial development and peer relationships. This study evaluated peer relationships among youth with IgE-mediated allergic diseases and EoE and parent perception to identify potential differences in these relationships.
