Does H2 Alter Mitochondrial Bioenergetics via GHS-R1α Activation?DOI: 10.7150/thno.18745 Keywords: Ghrelin, GHS-R1α, GLUT1, GLUT4, Mitochondria, Bioenergetics. Abstract: More than 400 original articles have been published from 2007 onwards evaluating therapeutic potential of molecular hydrogen (H2), the youngest member of medical gases family with selective anti-oxidative properties. However, recent studies suggest that H2 may tackle other mitochondrial processes besides oxidative stress, including metabolic pathways that drive cellular energy.
