In recent years, disulfiram-like reaction has gradually been widely recognized by medical staff as well as the general public, and the emergence of new media such as WeChat has further improved the popularity of the common sense. However, there is controversy over how long cephalosporins are safe to use after drinking, which brings confusion to clinical decision making. In order to provide more accurate scientific references, this paper discusses this issue from the aspects of clinical case reports, the controversy over safe intervals between alcohol and drug use, the mechanism of disulfiram-like reaction and the metabolism of ethanol in vivo
