Engaging corruption: new ideas for the International Monetary Fund

Abstract The IMF’s standard ways of engaging with countries need redoing for complicated, politically loaded issues like corruption. This paper suggests what might be done inside the Fund and with client countries to enable more effective policies. The proposed methods could lead to a broader rethink of how the Fund does business – and they have more general applications to international financial institutions and foreign aid
