Letter from the Editor-in-ChiefDOI: 10.1177/192536211700700301 Abstract: The theme of the third issue of 2017 is “The Pathology of Terror” and the Special Guest Editor is Dr. Michael Pollanen. We specifically used the word “terror” rather than “terrorism” to be more inclusive. Forensic pathology is involved in the evaluation of many acts involving “terror,” of which “terrorism” is certainly a subset. This is probably not a topic most people think about in terms of a type of pathology, but it certainly brings to mind special considerations pertaining to injuries in the setting of torture or the approach to dealing with a mass casualty event such as a terrorist act or genocide
