Abstract:

Perfectionism is a stable personality trait that pursues high standards, including both adaptive and maladaptive. In this study, 603 medical college students were selected as subjects, and the modified version of the almost perfect scale, self-esteem scale and Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale were used to test the subject group, so as to explore the mediating effect of self-esteem between perfectionism and depression. The results showed that self-esteem played a partial mediating role between high standard dimensions of perfectionism and depression, and between difference dimensions and depression, indicating that improving the self-esteem level of perfectionists could help reduce depression.
