Abstract:

Working fluid plays a very important role in thermodynamic cycle. The development of organic working fluids, which have been widely used in refrigeration systems and organic Rankine cycle, has entered an environment protection era. Ozone depletion potential (ODP) and global warming potential (GWP) are two most important indices for the evaluation of organic working fluid. Radi-ative efficiency is an intermediate parameter for GWP calculation and an inherent property of a substance as a constant value. From the perspective of ODP and radiative efficiency, this paper gives some thoughts on the future development of environment-friendly organic working fluids based on group contribution method. Groups that may be used in the future development of environment friendly organic working fluids are also given in this paper.
