Abstract:

摘要 通过对160名本科生的控制实验,本文考察浸泡在国族主义中长大的当代中国青年面对美剧里的中国形象时,所做出的反应。研究发现,虽然明知道美剧里的中国故事不合理,中国青年也愿意接受美剧里中国政府的正面形象,如果美剧负面再现中国政府形象,虽然知道这个故事更合理,但是这些青年也不愿意接受负面的政府形象。收视频率和收视时间不能解释他们的态度差异,因此,主导性的国族主义影响了他们对于美剧的接受和理解。在跨国信息流动的背景下,“主动的受众”这一研究传统需要再考虑。
With the experiments on 160 college students, this study attempts to explore how contemporary Chinese youth who grow up with dominant nationalism discourse would react to China’s image represented in American TV series. Albeit Chinese youth understand that the China-related story represented in American TV series is unreasonable, they are still willingly to accept the positive Chinese government image. On the other hand, when Chinese government is represented a negative image, although Chinese youth are aware of the truthfulness of the story, they are not willingly to accept such a negative image. The viewing frequency and viewing time cannot explain their attitude difference. Therefore, the dominant nationalism discourse affects their acceptance of American TV series. Under the background of transnational information flow, the ‘active audience’ approach needs more reconsideration
