Syncretic complex pronoun-correlated sentence of asymmetric structureDOI: 10.18523/2616-8502.2018.3-11, PP. 3-11 Keywords: syncretism, complex pronoun-correlated sentence, asymmetric structure, heard-wordcoordination, semantic-syntactic relations Abstract: Background. The types of syncretic complex pronoun-correlated sentence of asymmetric structure have not been described yet; the means of link between their main sentence and clause have not been cleared up yet; the factors inducing syncretism of these constructions have not been studied. Purpose. The purpose of the analysis is to elucidate all semantic types of syncretic complex pronouncorrelated sentence of asymmetric structure. Methods. The main research methods are the descriptive one and the method of complex analysis of a sentence on the communicative, semantic-syntactic, and formal-syntactic levels. We use the method of context and distributive analysis, and the elements of transformational analysis as well. Results. Some types of syncretic semantic-syntactic relation can realize between the main sentence and clause in complex pronoun-correlated sentences of asymmetric structure, namely predicate-adverbial (which consists of predicate-quantitative, predicate-consequential, predicate-intentional, predicate-comparative, predicate- quantitative-intentional, predicate- quantitative- consequential subtypes), substantial-attributive, consequential-adverbial, attributive-quantitative, attributive-adverbial, temporal-conditional, and tempora-lcausal. The correlative components of the main sentence of predicate (такий), substantial (те), attributive (такий), quantitative (такий, так), temporal (тод?, в?дтод?, ?нод?, колись, завжди) complex pronoun-correlated constructions adjoin clauses with asemantic or comparative conjunctions, which results in additional semantics – attributive or adverbial. The order of the main sentence and the clause (inversion) as well as emphatic particles in clauses actualize this additional semantics. Discussion. The results of this study complicate theoretical syntax with new knowledge about syncretic types of complex sentences and help to improve classification of polypredicative constructions.
