“医生”抑或“媒人”:大学教师发展机构的定 位难题——台湾一所大学的案例研究

Abstract:
台湾的大学教师发展是由自上而下的政策驱动的。通 过对台湾一所大学教学发展中心的质性研究发现,该教师发 展机构实质上成为提供教学资源与服务的行政单位,扮演“邀 请者”和“协助者”(“媒人”)角色,与政策预期的“促进者”和 “辅导者”(“医生”)角色定位有一定偏差。这一角色定位相应 地影响了该组织的活动参与情况和组织发展策略。可以通过 提升机构专业性、塑造合作共享的文化氛围和改革评价晋升制 度来破解教师发展机构的定位难题,使之真正成为教师发展的 “健康中心”。
Faculty development in Taiwan is driven by the government’s top-down policies. Through a qualitative research on the center of teaching and learning development in a case university, the researchers find that the institution’s position is substantially administrative units offering teaching resources and services, with roles as inviter and assistant. But it is far away from the government’s role expectation as facilitator and counselor. This identity of the institution influences its activities’ participation rate and development strategies. Therefore, we can try to solve the problem by promoting professionalism, forming the atmosphere of cooperative sharing, and reforming the current evaluation and promotion system, towards the aim as a real “health center”.
