当代社会的古典教育:讲稿两篇

Abstract:
在现代性危机中,古典教育的意义开始重新凸显出来。 实际上,当代社会的当代性恰恰在于其所“当”之“时代”在过 去和未来之间。古典之为经典并不只是因为它来自“古代”,而 尤其在于它是从过去途经现在而去往未来的“经”或“道路”。 所以,古典教育之于当代社会的意义并非复古,而是奠基性的 “人之为人”的生命教育,是文化大生命自我更新的“人文化 成”教育。古典教育之所以具有当代性,是因为古典教育首先 是“整全之人”的教育,是人之为人的自由教育、博雅教育。鉴 于当代社会的多元化特点,古典教育在当代社会的开展需要多 种可能性的探索。而其中,倡导每个人饱读历代圣贤的经传注 疏,潜心自学默化,以致变化气质,照亮身边的人,则是这种探 寻的必由之路。大学人文经典通识教育和面向社会的传统文化 教育应该同时进行,相辅相成。当前社会上的“国学热”良莠不 齐,大学应承担社会教化责任,起到积极引导作用。
The contemporary era comes from the past, and heading to the future. It is not an independent era. Ancient books are taken as classics, not only because they are old, but also because they belong to all the times. They are the ways or Dao, on which the communications between the contemporary and the past, even the future, would be possible. Therefore, the significance of ancient classical education in contemporary society is not returning to the past, but rather life education, which could lay a foundation for humanity and for the self-renewal of the culture.
