马克思在经济思想史上对资本的生产时间和流通时间作了科学的界定，分析了资本流通时间与资本生产时间的内在制约关系，认为资本流通的速度与效率由资本流通的时间决定。马克思论述了资本周转效率与资本循环时间长短成反比例变化，分析了商品产销空间距离与运输方式变化影响资本流通时间的变化、商品的属性制约和决定资本流通时间的长短、供货契约状况影响资本流通时间的变化。
Marx has made a scientific definition in the economic history of capital production time and capital circulation time, and has analyzed intrinsic constraint of capital production time and capital circulation time. He thought that the speed and efficiency of capital circulation is determined by the capital circulation time. Marx has discussed that the efficiency of capital turnover and length of capital cycle changes inversely proportional,and the production and marketing spatial distance of commodity and the mode of transportation changes will influence the changes of capital circulation time. The length of capital circulation time also depends on the properties of the goods, and the supply contract conditions influence capital circulation time.
