以美国国家档案馆（含分馆）和加州理工学院档案馆馆藏中保存的钱学森档案文献为依据，梳理了1950年钱学森回国行李被扣的复杂过程，还原事件的具体细节；认为事件的发生与当时的国际政治环境有着密切关系，钱学森回国不仅是新中国历史上的一个重要事件，也是钱学森爱国主义精神的集中体现。
Based on the documents of Tsien Hsue-shen at the American National Archives(including its branches) and the Archives of California institute of technology,the whole story of the detainment of Tsien Hsue-shen with his luggage on his return to China in 1950is retold with all details. The article believes that the incident was closely related with the international political environment at the time.Tsien Hsue-shen returning to China is not only an important event in the history of new China but also a reflection of his patriotism
