Market Transition and the Health and Inequality of Non-Agricultural Labor Force

市场转型的影响不仅局限于经济领域，也波及居民健康。本文从市场转型理论出发，以CGSS2011调查数据为基础，通过多层次回归模型，考察了市场化程度对中国非农劳动力自评健康的影响，以及单位部门、政治资本、社会流动等因素在市场化进程中影响非农劳动力自评健康的变化趋势。研究发现：第一，区别于东欧国家，中国的市场化对非农劳动力健康具有积极的净效应；第二，非农劳动力的健康水平存在跨部门差异，公有部门要显著高于私有部门，但在市场化进程中，公私两部门劳动力的健康不平等将逐渐缩小。第三，政治资本对非农劳动力健康具有积极作用，但这种效应也将伴随着市场化进程趋于弱化。第四，不管代内还是代际社会流动，上向社会流动并未有助于非农劳动力健康，但下向社会流动明显不利于非农劳动力健康，至于社会流动在市场化进程中是扩大还是缩小健康不平等，并未得到有效验证。
：The impact of market transition is not only confined to the economic field，but also spread to residents’ health problems. Starting with the market transition theory, based on CGSS2011 survey data and multi-level regression model, this paper has investigated the influence of marketization degree on China's non-agricultural labor force’s self-rated health, and the changing trend of the influence of department, political capital, social mobility on non-agricultural labor force’s self-rated health in the process of marketization. Research findings first, unlike Eastern European countries, China's marketization has positive net effect on the health of non-agricultural labor force; second, there are cross-departmental differences in the health of non-agricultural labor. The health level in public sector is significantly higher than that in the private sector, but in the process of marketization, the health inequalities of the labor force in public and private sectors will gradually shrink. Third, political capital plays an active role in the health of non-agricultural labor, but this effect will also be weakened in the marketization process. Fourth, upward social mobility does not benefit the health of non-agricultural labor, regardless of intra-generational or intergenerational social mobility, but the downward social mobility is obviously not beneficial to the health of non-agricultural labor force. As to whether social mobility is expanding or reducing health inequalities in the process of marketization, it has not yet been verified
