|
Abstract:
Abstract: Objective: To study the effect of the moderate-intensity aerobic exercise on blood pressure (BP), anxiety of hypertension patients and the related mechanism. Methods: Twenty hypertension patients (3 males and 17 females) in community were recruited in this study, their average age was 62.50±2.82 yrs, and they participated in a 16 weeks moderate-intensity aerobic exercise program (1 hour/day, 6 days/ week). Patients practiced a moderate-intensity aerobic training program (1 hour per time,6 times per week). Psychological anxiety scale, height, body weight, waist circumference, blood pressure, percentage of body fat, AngⅡ,E and COR were measured in all patients before training and at the end of eighth week and after 16 weeks training. Results: 1) Compared with pre training, the number of patients taking normal does of hypotensor reduced from 90% to 45% after 16 weeks training, 35% of the subjects only took half dose, and the number of patients not taking medicine increased by 10%; 2) After 16 weeks training, both SBP and DBP of patients decreased significantly (P < 0.01), and the pulse pressure also decreased obviously (P < 0.05). 3) After 16 weeks training, patient’s anxiety level decreased (P < 0.01), and about 69% patients was getting better. 4) After 16 weeks training, the content of Ang II, E and COR in serum decreased (P < 0.01). Conclusions: 1) Moderate-intensity exercise can effectively reduce hypertensive patients’ blood pressure. 2) Moderate-intensity exercise can significantly alleviate hypertension patients’ anxiety level and promote a healthy emotional development. 3) Moderate-intensity exercise can significantly reduce hypertensive patients’ serum Ang II, E and content of COR, which may be the biochemical basis of moderate-intensity exercise effectively alleviating anxiety and reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients
