|
Abstract:
Abstract: Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the effect of aerobic exercise on blood pressure and NO, eNOS and ET-1 secretion from vascular endothelial cells in postmenopausal women with essential hypertension. Methods: The 55-60 years old postmenopausal women were recruited in this study, and participated in a personalized 12-week fast walking exercise program. Results: After 12 weeks brisk walking, women’s SBP and ET-1 in exercise group significantly decreased; the concentrations of NO and eNOS secreted by endothelial cells in exercise group significantly increased. In control group, women’s SBP and ET-1 increased, the concentration of NO and eNOS decreased, but no significance. Conclusions: The 12-week brisk walking can effectively control the blood pressure in postmenopausal women and may reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease
