编写的技艺――弥尔顿《莫斯科大公国简史》中的编纂与改写
The art of editing: Editing and rewriting in Milton’s A Brief History of Moscovia

摘 要： 《莫斯科大公国简史》(A Brief History of Moscovia)是英国诗人弥尔顿毕生唯一的地理著作。该作品不仅反映出他对地理知识的看法、国家主义的世界观，其独特的编纂方法，也显示他在理解、归纳、组织、传递这类知识技术上，发展出自己的一套方法。因此，针对《莫斯科大公国简史》的编写手法加以分析，藉此探讨弥尔顿对于地理知识的看法，及处理知识的手法。
Abstract: A Brief History of Moscovia is the only geographical writing John Milton has published and it has been used in scholarly criticisms as a background that showcases Milton’s knowledge of geography. However, a close study of the work will yield much more than just the apparent fact of Milton’s enjoyment in geography. The work shows more importantly his techniques of knowledge management―how he has read, selected, reorganized, and appropriated knowledge. It is therefore the aim of this study to analyze Milton’s editing and rewriting strategies in the work in order to understand his views of geography as well as his methods of organizing knowledge
