语境关照下的《孙子兵法》通俗化英译研究――兼评加葛里亚蒂译本
Study on the translation of The Art of War in perspective of functional context theory: with the example of Gary Gagliardi’s version

摘 要： 从功能语境理论视角，以加葛里亚蒂《孙子兵法》英译本为研究对象，以林戊荪译本为参照，通过宏观语境分析和自下而上具体分析相结合的方法，探讨译者如何根据翻译目的进行文化语境还原；探究译者如何通过语场、语旨、语式的具体配置进行情景语境重构；发掘译文在上下文语境方面的特点。研究发现，译者会根据文化语境界定翻译基调；根据翻译目的选择翻译策略，进行翻译布局和模态运用。具体体现在视角转换、情态表达、语法结构、衔接手段等方面。
Abstract: The present study, by taking Functional Context Theory as the theoretical perspective, aims at finding out how Gary Gagliardi and Lin Wusun choose proper strategies to achieve their purpose in translating The Art of War. The findings show that translators make choices in terms of translation strategies, layout and so on from the angle of perspective switching, modality expression, grammatical structures, and cohesive devices to reconstruct the overall cultural context, the specific situational context and so on
