A new hypothesis about tumor metastasis and therapy

肿瘤转移是肿瘤患者死亡的主要原因。一般认为肿瘤转移能力的获得是基因突变的结果。但是，基因突变难以解释一些常见的肿瘤转移现象。在这里，我们提出肿瘤转移能力可能至少部分来自其起源细胞，而不是完全来自基因突变。另外，我们认为可以利用肿瘤细胞本身具有的强转移特性，定向和定位诱导肿瘤细胞并杀死之。这可能成为一种新的治疗恶性肿瘤的方法。
Tumor metastasis is a major reason for cancer patient death. It is generally accepted that the activity oftumor metastasis results from gene mutations. However, gene mutations can’t explain well some familiar phenomena oftumor metastasis. Here, we propose that the activity of tumor metastasis may, at least partially, inherit from the origincells of tumor instead of gene mutations. In addition, considering that the tumor cells have s strong ability of metastasis,we suggest inducing directly them to move to the target site and subsequently killing them, which may be a new mean forkilling malignancy
