Abstract:

加拿大作家阿特伍德的小说《可以吃的女人》描绘了后现代语境下主人公的种种精神症状,这是她的自我异化加焦虑的体现。本文从拉康的精神分析理论出发,探讨了小说中女主人公的精神症状,把小说中的三个主要人物解读为拉康的他者—小他者—大他者的原型叙事。通过他者的语言,小说描绘了现代社会中主体的分裂、异化景象。主人公的自我焦虑体现了她对想象界的渴望,希冀通过回归实在界从而实现与母体的融合,这样就可以避免自我的分化,保证自我的完整和统一。但主体形成的要求就是进入象征界,因此女主人公危机的解决也必然是要回归代表象征
Margaret Atwood’s The Edible Woman is a literary delineation of the diseased subject in the postmoderncontext. The novel, through the author’s depiction of the heroine’s identity crisis and psychic symptoms such asschizophrenia, anorexia nervosa, hysteria, etc., can be interpreted as a metaphor that runs parallel to Lacanian modelinvolving the tripartite conflict among self, the small other, and the big other during the ego formation of the subject. Withsuch an allegory of a narrative of the other, the novel provides a landscape of the anxious subject who seeks return to theLacanian Real in a symbolic reunion with the primal union with other. Solution to such an identity crisis, however, is thesubject’s re-entry into the Symbolic and its positioning in the social system. By probing into the clinical symptoms of thediseased subject, the paper attempts to reveal the medical and philosophical inspiration that the novel presents to us
