中国社会学的当代使命

作为一门应用性的学科,社会学发展必然经历材料积累――范畴归纳――理论建构三个必经环节。这三个环节是一个有机的整体,前一环节是后一环节的基础,后一环节是前一环节的自然延伸。总体上而言,当代中国的社会学发展仍处于材料积累的环节。在这一环节上,中国社会学的历史使命是认真做好材料积累工作、遵循必要的学术规范、适时进行社会学基本范畴的归纳。这是当代中国社会学的最重要使命之一。
As an applied discipline, sociology has to undergo the following three stages in its development: accumulation of historical materials; establishment of its own categories and notions; and theory construction. These three stages are closely connected with each other: the preceding one being the basis of the following one and the following one in return being the natural development of the preceding one. In general, the contemporary Chinese sociology is still in the first stage and its mission is to conscientiously collect and sort out crucial materials, follow the necessary academic norms, and try to establish adequate basic categories for Chinese sociology
