Abstract:The authorship of the essay collection Wen zong ge za ji (Notes taken in wenzong stadio) was originally claimed by Wang Zhong. It was first collected in the Hundred-Collection of Qing’s Manuscripts (qing dai gao ben bai zhong hui bian), and later collected into A New Collection of Wang Zhong (xin bian wang zhong ji). However, it proves to be a forged work when the total 172 items have been carefully examined and found to have been copied from over 10 books without a single note. Besides, a few items in the collection are believed to have been inconsistent with Wang’s life and ideas. It can be concluded that the book is forged by some modern booksellers.
