19世纪英译《三国演义》资料辑佚与研究——以德庇时《三国志节译文》为中心Keywords: 《三国演义》,德庇时,《汉文诗解》,《三国志节译文》The Romance of the Three Kingdoms,John Francis Davis,Poeseos Sinensis Commentatii,Extracts from the History of the Three States Abstract: 第二任香港总督德庇时,是19世纪第一位向英语世界系统介绍中国诗词、小说和戏曲的英国汉学家。 Abstract:John Francis Davis was the first British sinologist who introduced Chinese poems, novels and dramas into the English world systematically in the 19th century. Although he is infamous and disputable as a diplomat and politician, as a literature translator and culture transmitter, he turned out to be very successful and admirable. Based on the first-hand rare materials collected by the author, this paper focuses on the Extracts from the History of the Three States translated by John Francis Davis and deeply analyzes his translation from the perspective of the text reading, comparative analysis and influence. His translations witnessed the first attempt to print Chinese and English in alternate pages. It was not only an important milestone in translating The Romance of the Three Kingdoms, but also a rare case in the research of the early culture contact between the Chinese and the British.
