Abstract:

inrecentyears,theabilityofmicroorganismstodecolorizetextilewastewaterhasreceivedgreatattentionduetotheenvironmentalpersistenceandtoxicityofthesepollutants.inthispaperbiologicaldecolorizationoftriphenylmethanedye,c.i.basicgreen4(bg4),bychlorellaspecieswasinvestigated.theeffectofoperationalparameters(temperature,ph,initialdyeconcentrationandalgalconcentration)ondecolorizationefficiencywasexamined.resultsindicatedthatthedesiredinitialphwas9.thestabilityandefficiencyofthealgaeinlong-termrepetitiveoperationswerealsoexamined.michaelis?mentenkineticswasemployedtodescribetheapparentcorrelationbetweenthedecolorizationrateanddyeconcentration.theoptimalkineticparameters,νmax(specificdecolorizationrate)andkm(maximumspecificdecolorizationrate)were4.6mgdyegcell-1h-1and151.0mgl-1,respectively.fig10,tab2,ref24
