?comparisonofsoilfertilityofacerinsigne,quercuscastaneifolia,andpinusbrutiastandsinthehyrcanianforestsofiranDOI: 10.3724/SP.J.1145.2014.02011, PP. 899-905 Keywords: plantation,needle-leavedspecies,broad-leavedspecies,soilproperty,depth Abstract: treesspecieshavedifferenteffectsonsoilpropertiesandnutrients.plantationasamanagementstrategyforsoilproductivityretentionandthepreventionofdestructioncanbeeffectiveinthecontinuityofforestproductivity.after21years,theeffectsofthemaple(acervelutinumbioss.),oak(quercuscastaneifoliac.a.mey.),andredpine(pinusbrutiaten.)standsonsoilfertilitywereassessedinthesariregion(northerniran).soilwassampledatdepthsof0-10,10-20,20-30,and30-40cmatallstandsusingacoresoilsamplerwithan81cm2crosssection.soiltexture,ph,organiccarbon(c),totalnitrogen(n),availablephosphorus(p),potassium(k),calcium(ca),andmagnesium(mg)forallsamplesweremeasuredinthelaboratory.ourfindingsshowedthattheplantedstandssignificantlyaffectedsoilphysicochemicalproperties.statisticalcomparisonsrevealedthatthehighestandlowestlevelsofn,p,k,ca,andmginsoiloccurredinthemapleandredpinestands,respectively.measurementsofsoilfertilityshowedthatfertilitydecreasedinrelationtoincreasedsoildepth,withsignificantdifferencesdependingonsoildepth.ourresultssuggestthattorehabilitatedegradednaturalforests,atleastinnortherniran,theplantationofsuitablenativebroad-leavedspeciescanberecommendedforforestationplanmanagement.
