Abstract:

?toretrievesea-surfacesalinity(sss)fromradiometerdataat1.4ghz,auxiliarydataofsea-surfacetemperature(sst),surfaceroughnessandmeteorologicalvariablesareneeded.theauthorsstudyoceanicpassivepolarimetricmicrowaveremotesensingusing1.4ghzand10.7ghzbands.asetofalgorithmsaredevelopedfor1.4ghzand10.7ghzmicrowavepolarimetricradiometerat50°incidenceangletoretrievewindvector,aswellasothergeophysicalparameters,suchassss,sst,atmosphericvolumesofwatervaporandliquidwater.idealizedretrievalsareconductedusing2324simulatedbrightnesstemperaturesoffullstokesparametersat1.4ghzand10.7ghz.resultsindicatethatsss,sst,sea-surfacewindspeed,direction,atmosphericvolumesofwatervaporandliquidwatercanbeinversedatthesametime.thissuggestsanalternativewayforsssremotesensing.
