Abstract:

?dimethylether(dme)isamongstoneofthemostpromisingalternative,renewableandcleanfuelsbeingconsideredasafutureenergycarrier.inthisstudy,thecomparativecatalyticperformanceofthehalogenatedγ-al2o3preparedfromtwohalogenprecursors(ammoniumchlorideandammoniumfluoride)ispresented.theimpactofultrasonicirradiationwasevaluatedinordertooptimizeboththehalogenprecursorfortheproductionofdmefrommethanolinafixedbedreactor.thecatalystswerecharacterizedbysem,xrd,betandnh3-tpd.underreactionconditionswherethetemperaturerangedfrom200to400℃withawhsv=15.9h-1wasfoundthatthehalogenatedcatalystsshowedhigheractivityatallreactiontemperatures.however,thehalogenatedaluminacatalystspreparedundertheeffectofultrasonicirradiationshowedhigherperformanceofγ-al2o3fordmeformation.thechlorinatedγ-al2o3catalystsshowedahigheractivityandselectivityfordmeproductionthanfluorinatedversions.
