缅甸Tarlay2011年地震与古特提斯缝合带的活动构造Keywords: TarleyEarthquake,Activetectonics,Myanmar,Paleo-Tethyssuture Abstract: Anearthquakeof6.8magnitudestrucktheeasternShanStateinMyanmarat20:29:30MyanmarStandardTime(01:55:12PMUTC)on24March2011.Itisoneoftheearthquakesinplate-interiorsetting.Sixafter-shocksoccurredthesameyear.Thenucleationpointofthisearthquakewasdefinedbyanepicenterat20kmwestofTarlay(20.705°N,99.949°E)atadepthof10kmanditsmagnitudewas6.8.Theearthquakedamagewasdisastrous.Thegeologicaldisasterswerelinearlydistributedalongthesurfacerupturezone.Theearthquakeproducedcracks,archbend,eruptingsand,gushwater,etc.inmanyplaces.Asaresultofthisstrongearthquake,224-305houseswereseriouslydamaged,74peoplewerekilled,124injured.TheeventwasnamedafterthenearestvillageTarlayandtheNE-orENE-strikingNanMafaultwasresponsibleforit.Adetailedmorphotectonicstudywascarriedoutintheareausingsatelliteimage1:24,000scaleaerialphotographsand1:63360scaletopographicmaps,tocorrelatetheseismicitywithtectonics.ItisfoundthattherearetwoprominentlineamentsstrikinginNE-orENE-andN-SorNNE-SSWdirection.Thepresent-daydeformationoftheThanLwinsuturezoneisconsistentwithroughlyNW-SEextensionandNE-SWstrikingcompression,butwithmoreconjugatestrike-slipfaultingandonlyminornormalfaulting.
