GeologicstudiesoftheLateCreta-ceousPaleogenestratigraphicrecordofsouthernTibetrevealdistinctepisodesofcollisionandpostcollisionalcompression.ThecompositionofsedimentsexposedalongtheIndus-YarlungZangbosuture,tectonicdeformation,paleomagnetism,mag-maticactivityoftheGangdeseArc,highpressuremetamorphism,paleobiogeographyandterrestrialbi-otachangeshavebeenvariouslyusedtodiagnosethetimingofIndian-Eurasiancontinentalplatescollision.Amongthem,paleobiogeographyandmarinefaciescessationarevisiblescenariostotracethecontinentalcollision.ThisstudyrecognizedthatdramaticchangesofpaleobiogeographyhappenedduringearlyPaleo-gene.
