末次盛冰期热带降雨对低纬表层海温的敏感性

Abstract:

利用美国国家大气研究中心的CAM3大气环流模式,研究模拟了末次盛冰期热带辐合带(IntertropicalConvergenceZone,简称ITCZ)/夏季风区降雨对热带表层海水温度(SeaSurfaceTemperature,简称SST)变化的敏感性,结果发现:1)在冰期边界条件下,热带SST异常很大程度上控制着局地降雨的响应,特别当SST异常范围从区域扩大到全球热带地区,ITCZ/夏季风降雨的剧烈变化可以与其他冰期边界条件的影响相当;2)不论是以古海洋重建的热带SST还是海气耦合模拟输出的SST为边界条件,CAM3中热带降雨基本上与局地SST呈正相关关系(SST变暖,降雨增加),并同时受SST梯度分布格局控制,这与完全海气耦合模式的冰期模拟结果一致;3)合理的SST边界条件(特别是海气耦合模式输出的SST分布)驱动下,模拟得到的热带降雨异常分布与其他独立的古海洋水循环特征指标重建更为吻合(相对于现代值,亚洲夏季风区和赤道西太平洋辐合带降雨增加,两侧副热带太平洋降雨减少)。这些结果不仅为探索末次盛冰期时期热带水循环特征变化提供了新的古海洋重建数据支撑,也有利于进一步揭示冰期/间冰期旋回中热带气候变化的物理机制所在。如该项研究揭示的热带SST-降雨正相关关系在赤道中东太平洋等非季风区与现代观测一致,而现代亚洲太平洋夏季风区中负相关关系在冰期条件下并未得到再现,说明不同气候背景对夏季风区海气相互作用有重要影响。
