Abstract:

TheidealreducingreagentintestingavailablenitrogenofsoilbyConwayMethodisDevard'salloy.Theoptimumratioofsoil:Devard'salloy:1.0NNaOHsolutionis5.0g:0.2g:5ml.Whenreactiongoesonat30℃for4hours,therateofsoilNO3-Nreductionisabout90%,andtherecoveryrateofsoilNH4-Nisabout95%.Someorganicnitrogencanbemeasuredatthesametime.ThismethodisdefinedastheModifiedConwayMethodandthesoilN-minisr=0.982(n=10).Inpredictingsoilnitrogensupplyingpower,theModifiedConwayMethodtakesonly1/6oftimeneededbyConwayMethod.TheModifiedConwayMethodcanalsobeusedforthemeasureofsoilN-min.
