Abstract:

Theresultsofcharacteristiccomparisonandprincipalcomponentanalysisshowedthatthemajor.characteristicsofsesamevarietiesinHenanprovincewereimprovedinthepastdecades.Thesesamebreedingworksintheprovincewerefocusedonthecollectionandthescreeningofthenativegermplasmsfrom1950to1969andthemeanvaluesofthevarietycharacteristicswerethelowest.In1970s,thepedigreebreedingwasmainlyconducted,whichresultedinthereleaseofvarietiesofvarioustypeswithbettertraits.During1980s,thehybridizationbreedingwascarriedoutdominantlywiththevarietiespossessingfinetraits.Since1990,therewerenobettervarietiesreleased.Tomakenewprogresses,itisessentialtorenewthebreedingmethodandatthesametimetointroduceandcreatespecialgermplasmstowidenthegeneticbackground.
