Staticshapecontrolofaflatshellstructure, PP. 1-3 Abstract: TheeightnodeandfortyDOFpiezoelectricshellelementwereappliedtoshapecontrolofaflatshellstructure.Bythedirectandconverseeffects,adistributedpiezoelectricsensorlayerwasusedtomonitortheshapedeformationandadistributedactuatorlayerwasusedtosuppressethedeflection.Afiniteelementmodelwasforstaticresponseoflaminatedshellwithpiezoelectricsensors/actuatorswasderived.ThemodelwasverifiedbycalculatingpiezoelectricpolymericPVDFbimorphbeam.TheresultsareingoodagreementwiththoseobtainedbytheoreticalanalysisofTzou\[1\]andHwang\[2\].Acasestudyofthestaticshapecontrolofaflatshellstructureispresented.
