Abstract:

ThepaperintroducedthestructuralapplicationswithPMI(Polymethacrylimide)foamsinsandwichcomponentsforrotorcraft,launchingvehicleandcivilaircraftanddiscusssometypicallyusedmanufacturingmethods,suchase.g.in-mouldpressing,autoclavecuringandresininfusion.Theadvantagesoffoam-coredsandwichdesignversushoneycomb-coreddesignwillbediscussed,focussingonmanufacturingcosts.
