ProductionofFumaricAcidfromRawStarchyMaterialsbyRhizopusoryzaewithSSFKeywords: fumaricacid,starchy,Rhizopusoryzae,carbon/nitrogenratio,simultaneoussaccharificationandfermentation Abstract: Toreducethemanufacturingcostoffumaricacidproductionbyfermentation,fourkindsofrawstarchymaterialswereinvestigated,cassavapowder,cornpowder,degermedcornpowderandstarch.Bycomparingthenitrogencontentsinthem,carbon/nitrogenratioofrawmaterialswasthekeyfactoraffectingthefumaricacidproductionbyRhizopusoryzae.Basedonthispoint,degermedcornpowderwasselectedasthebestrawstarchymaterialforfumaricacidproduction.Inaddition,thesimultaneoussaccharificationandfermentation(SSF)processforfumaricacidproductionwasoptimized.Withdegermedcornpowderassubstrateat100g/Ltotalsugarconcentration,thefumaricacidproduction(35.51g/L),yield(0.355g/g)andproductivity(0.493[g/(L×h)])wereobtainedviaSSFprocessina7-Lfermentor.
