StudiesofHeterogeneousHydrothermalStrippingfromIron-loadedNaphthenicAcid?Alcohol?KerosenKeywords: iron-loadedorganicphase,heterogeneoushydrothermalstripping,rateequation,nano-ferricoxide Abstract: Thetechniqueofhydrothermalstrippingfrommixedaqueous-organicsystemsisapromisingmethodforsynthesizingoxideceramicpowdersforhigh-performanceapplications.Somefactorsinfluencingheterogeneoushydrothermalstrippingwithwaterfromiron-loadedorganicphaseofnaphthenicacid?isooctylalcohol?kerosene,suchasinitialconcentrationsofironandnaphthenicacid,concentrationofFe2O3“seed”,temperatureandtime,wereinvestigated.Basedontheexperimentalresults,therateequationwasestablished.Nano-ferricoxidepowderswereobtainedbythetechniqueofhydrothermalstrippingfromtheiron-loadedorganicphase.Theresultssuggestthattheheterogeneoushydrothermalstrippingproceedsin3stepsadsorptionofnaphthenicaciddimersandnaphtheniccomplexofironontothesurfaceof“seed”,hydrolysisofadsorbedcomplexofiron,andcondensationofhydrolyzedcomplex.Theprocessactivationenergyis115kJ/molandtheheterogeneoushydrothermalstrippingiscontrolledbyachemicalreaction(thehydrolysisofnaphtheniccomplexofiron).
