AnExperimentalInvestigationofHydrogenProductionfromBiomassKeywords: air-steamgasification,biomass,hydrogenproduction Abstract: Ingaseousproductsofbiomasssteamgasification,thereexistalotofCO,CH4andotherhydrocarbonsthatcanbeconvertedtohydrogenthroughsteamreformingreactions.Thereexistspotentialhydrogenproductionfromtherawgasofbiomasssteamgasification.Inthepresentwork,thecharacteristicsofhydrogenproductionfrombiomasssteamgasificationwereinvestigatedinasmall-scalefluidizedbed.Intheseexperiments,thegasifyingagent(air)wassuppliedintothereactorfromthebottomofthereactorandthesteamwasaddedintothereactorabovebiomassfeedinglocation.Theeffectsofreactiontemperature,steamtobiomassratio,equivalenceratio(ER)andbiomassparticlesizeonhydrogenyieldandhydrogenyieldpotentialwereinvestigated.Theexperimentalresultsshowedthathigherreactortemperature,properER,propersteamtobiomassratioandsmallerbiomassparticlesizewillcontributetomorehydrogenandpotentialhydrogenyield.
