SynthesisofNitrogen-dopedTitaniabySolvothermalReactionsinAlcoholsKeywords: nitrogen-dopedtitania,solvothermalsynthesis,alcohol,photocatalysis,nitrogenmonoxide,decomposition Abstract: Nitrogen-dopedtitaniananoparticleswereobtainedbythehomogeneousprecipitationinhexamethylenetetramine-titaniumtrichloride-alcoholaqueoussolutionsat90℃followedbyheatingat190℃.Anatase,rutileandbrookitewereobtained,wherethecrystallitesize,specificsurfaceareaandcolorgreatlychangedas5~50nm,20~200m2/gandlightgraytoyellow,dependingonthesolventandpH.Theproductsaftercalcinationwereyellow,indicatingdopingwithnitrogenion.Allcoloredtitaniashowedphotocatalyticactivityundervisiblelightirradiationfortheoxidativedecompositionofnitrogenmonoxideinair.Especially,thenanoparticlesofanatasetypenitrogen-dopedtitaniaobtainedusingmethanolaqueoussolutionshowedexcellentphotocatalyticactivity.
