SynthesisofNovelChelatingAdsorbentsforBoronUptakefromAqueousSolutionsKeywords: boronadsorbent,chelatingresin,organic-inorganichybridmesoporousSBA-,uptakecapacity Abstract: Twokindsofnovelchelatingadsorbentshavebeensynthesizedtoseparateboronfromaqueoussolutions.Oneistheboron-specificchelatingresin,synthesizedbythefunctionalizationofmacroporouspoly(glycidylmethacrylate-co-trimethylolpropanetrimethacrylate),withN-methylglucamine.Theotheristheorganic-inorganichybridmesoporousSBA-15withpolyolfunctionalgroups,preparedbyatwo-steppost-graftingmethod.TheresincanadsorbboroninalmostallpHrange,anditsmaximumuptakecapacityreaches1.15mmol/g.Thepresentstudyofthepolyol-functionalizedSBA-15showsthatthepost-graftingissuccessfulandtheresultingadsorbenthastheuptakecapacityof0.63mmol/g.
